Barcelona, Rome, Athens

In order of appearance:
Barcelona where we've seen most things as we've been there a couple of times... so we found a fountain show which we found once we were there, wasn't on because the big fountain was defect. Still, some nice pictures and good fun!

Rome, where we practiced in an old Olympic pool with marble floors (yes the pool had marble floors) the actual floor and walls were filled with little stones (which made you happy to be wearing slippers) and beatifull mosaics! The picture is from the track field.. or at least one of the many statues surrounding it. He's a pretty tough looking man. And holding his Lion by the tail!
Athens.. well can you guess?? I don't have a picture to show for it yet but I went to see the Acropolis, Temple of Athena and the theatre of Herodes Atticus (quite impressive and rather last minute but a couple of us got up early and went. Sweet!) My camera's batteries had died in Rome (too much focussing in dark pools) so picture update will come!

Now before you all think we had a laid back trip we didn't! We played 9 games in 11 days in three countries... we had no more than two hours max to see some of these cities biggest attractions and nearly ran through! Which is quite a shame. We also managed to kick some ass against Greece, Australia and Spain and not so much against Russia.. but I guess they can win all they like when there is nothing at stake!

In between all this I managed to finish two books: Life of Pi and A Thougsand Splendid Suns. Both I would say are definitely worth your time although the first takes some getting into!

An additional bonus of this trip was the sun. sunsunsunsunsunsunsunsunsunsunsun!!!!! I think I found a new obsession to life. And I think to piss me off someone just taped grey pieces of paper over the windows of our house. Welcome home! Check back for an update soon!

This tough looking guy with the lion by his tail, might it be Hercules with the Numidian Lion?
Or did they never mention that in the series?

Could very likely be Hercules with his Numidian Lion... I guess it would be likely if the statues surrounding the track would by symbols of power and prestige... who better than Hercules whipping around a Lion by his tail? The next guy in Line looked like he was going to a bowling alley though.. who would he be then???
